Who should write it, the project team or key users?

What is ERP documentation, and what should it cover?

During testing, not after go-live. The transactions are being executed anyway for user acceptance testing, so capturing them there means end-user material exists on day one. Documentation promised for after stabilisation arrives once workarounds have already formed.

How easy is it to implement FlowShare for ERP documentation?

Does it work with desktop ERP systems?

Yes, both. This is the practical difference from browser-based documentation tools, which cannot see installed ERP clients at all. Capture runs locally, so ERP screens containing live business data are not uploaded anywhere while you record.

Where is the documentation stored?

Locally by default, on the machine that recorded it, and shared only when you choose. From there you export to your own network storage, intranet or document management system, or publish to the FlowShare Portal, our internal knowledge base software. You choose the destination, not the tool.

Can we use it in secure or regulated environments?

Yes. FlowShare is on-premise documentation software and works in air-gapped environments with no cloud storage involved, which is why it is used where ERP data cannot leave the network. Sensitive fields in screenshots can be blurred in bulk before anything is shared.

How do we keep documentation up to date?

Re-record the affected transaction rather than editing the document. Keeping one guide per transaction means a system change touches one file and takes minutes, whereas a single large manual turns the same change into a project nobody schedules.
